Pumpkin Prayer Printable Activities for Kids: A Fun Christian Halloween Idea
Fall is here, and with it comes pumpkins on porches, cozy family traditions, and lots of fun seasonal activities. I love celebrating all of it with my daughters, but this year, I wanted to make sure our fall fun also pointed back to Jesus. That’s why I created these pumpkin prayer crafts and activities—and I couldn’t wait to try it out at home with my girls.

What Is the Pumpkin Prayer?
The Pumpkin Prayer is a sweet way to connect pumpkin carving with faith. Each part of the pumpkin becomes a picture of God’s work in our lives:

- Cleaning out the yucky insides = God forgives our sins.
- Carving eyes, nose, and mouth = We open our lives to Him.
- Placing a candle inside = His light shines through us.
It’s simple enough for kids to grasp, but powerful enough to spark meaningful conversations about God’s love and grace.
What’s Included in the Pumpkin Prayer Craft & Activity Pack?
I designed this pack to make teaching (and celebrating) the Pumpkin Prayer easy and fun. Here’s what’s inside:

- Pumpkin Prayer Wheel Craft – A hands-on activity that helps kids remember each step of the prayer.
- Mini Book – Something little ones can color, read, and retell on their own.
- Cut-and-Paste Pumpkin Craft – A creative way to reinforce the prayer with scissors and glue.
- Scripture Coloring Page – A quiet activity that keeps little hands busy while focusing on God’s Word.
Everything is simple to prep and perfect for home, Sunday school, or even homeschool lessons.
How We Used It at Home
One afternoon, I spread everything out on the kitchen table—crayons, scissors, construction paper, glue sticks, and our new printables. My daughters were so excited!

We started with the wheel craft, and they loved turning it to see the different parts of the prayer. Then we worked through the mini book, and I was amazed at how quickly they started repeating the words back to me. My oldest really enjoyed the cut-and-paste activity, while my younger daughter couldn’t stop coloring the scripture page.
As we worked, we talked about what it means to let God’s light shine through us. It felt less like “teaching” and more like spending time together, but I could see the truths sinking in. Those little conversations are the ones that stick.
Ideas for Using the Pumpkin Prayer Activities
These activities are versatile and can be used in so many settings:

They’re simple enough for younger kids, but meaningful enough for older ones, too.
